What is a Sin of Commission?

A century ago, a proper young woman went to sea at a time when proper young women did NOT go to sea. Fifty years later she wrote her memoir, SINS OF COMMISSION – THANK GOD, but it was pretty much lost to the world. Today only three copies are known to exist, but I have one because this remarkable young woman was my great aunt and I am pleased to republish this worthy work. I view it as a message in a bottle floating upon the sea of time. It washed up on my beach, so I picked it up, fixed it up, and sent it on its way. I imagine that my wayfaring Aunt Jean would find this fitting.
